May 7, 2008 | 7am-6pm Millennium Biltmore Hotel
For 15 years it has been the annual signature event of the Los Angeles Venture Association, our region's oldest, most successful organization focused on the financing of growth.
The conference features a unique content-rich program, top level and effective networking and The Capital Zone®. It is structured to deliver unique, uncommon and essential knowledge and contacts to executives from early-stage to middle-market companies, and is marketed to senior executives and capital providers throughout the region.
This year, the conference will feature many great speakers, including two keynote Speakers: Our lunchtime Keynote is Jerry Greenfield, Co-Founder of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. Dean Kenneth W. Starr, Pepperdine University School of Law, is our morning Keynote Speaker.
With his best seller, Ben & Jerry’s Double-Dip: Lead with Your Values and Make Money, Too , Jerry Greenfield created both a nuts-and-bolts guidebook to the promise and pitfalls of “values-led” business, and an inspiring wake-up call about the growing international influence of the “socially conscience” or “mission driven” corporation.

In the latest in a series of attacks on the Sarbanes-Oxley Law of 2002, Kenneth Starr, the former special prosecutor, has mounted a lawsuit challenging the authority of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) on behalf of the Free Enterprise Fund. The suit argues that the PCAOB has too much unchecked police power and violates the separation of powers doctrine of the Constitution.
Two education tracks will feature 8 panels of CEO's and nationally recognized speakers:
- "Capitalizing on… Capital" (Financing Growth at various stages)
- "Capitalizing on... four LA regional industries": Clean Technology; New Digital Media; Commercial Real Estate; Supply Chain Logistics.
The Investment Capital Conference offers senior executives and board members the ideal place to:
- Meet the nation's providers of growth financing, including top venture capital firms, private equity funds, PIPE investors, and lenders.
- Benefit from CEOs' "war stories" and guidance.
- Catch up on the latest issues affecting the financing and M&A markets.
- Hear what CEOs of the most dynamic growth companies think will be the defining trends for 2008.
For investors:
For advisory firms:
- Reach out to a top-tier demographic.
- Establish or reinforce a brand.
- Form new key relationships.
